Clips and auto-clip
Clips come from the replay buffer: while it runs, Clutch keeps the last minutes of your game in memory. Saving a clip writes the part you want to a file. Nothing goes to disk until you save, and you don’t need to be recording or streaming.
Clip mode
Section titled “Clip mode”Turn on Clip mode in Settings → Clips. While a game is open, the replay buffer runs by itself and stops shortly after the game closes. Keep in memory sets how much it holds.
Clutch knows many games. For one it doesn’t know, it asks “Is … a game?” the first time it sees it fullscreen: answer It’s a game, and clip mode follows it from then on.
Saving a clip yourself
Section titled “Saving a clip yourself”Press the clip hotkey: F8 unless you change it. It works while the game has focus and saves the last 30 seconds (also changeable). Turn on Sound when saved to hear a confirmation. The clip is tagged with the game.
Outside clip mode you can start the replay buffer from the controls and use Save clip (Ctrl+Shift+R).
Auto-clip from game events
Section titled “Auto-clip from game events”For Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2 and League of Legends, Clutch can clip kills, multi-kills, aces, round and match wins and objectives by itself. It uses each game’s official local event feed, so nothing touches the game.
- Settings → Clips → Auto-clip → Connect next to the game. For Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2, restart the game afterwards.
- Under Rules for, turn events on or off, and set how many seconds before and after each event to keep.
Spectating someone else never makes clips. Events close together merge into one clip, up to Longest clip.
Auto-clip from loud moments (any game)
Section titled “Auto-clip from loud moments (any game)”- Hype: game audio clips when the game suddenly gets loud.
- Hype: microphone clips when you shout or cheer.
- Hype sensitivity: Low (only big moments), Medium or High (more clips).
Your clips
Section titled “Your clips”Open Clips in the sidebar. Play, rename, favourite, trim, copy, show in folder or delete a clip, and filter by game. Storage limit keeps the clip folder from filling your drive: the oldest automatic clips are deleted first, and favourites and clips you saved yourself never are.
