Automation and hotkeys

Click the lightning button in the top bar.

A macro is a list of steps:

  • switch to a scene;
  • show, hide or toggle a source;
  • mute, unmute or toggle a sound;
  • start or stop recording, streaming or the replay buffer;
  • save a clip;
  • run any action from the command palette;
  • wait a moment.

Example: “Be right back”: switch to the BRB scene, then mute the mic.

A macro runs when one of its triggers fires:

  • a global hotkey, which works even while a game has focus;
  • a window coming to the front, matched by program name or title (for example valorant);
  • every N seconds;
  • a scene going live;
  • recording or streaming starting or stopping.

Macros are saved with the setup, and anything a macro changes can be undone with Ctrl+Z.

Stream Deck and other remote controls see macros as hotkeys and can run them too.
